Project Overview

Snowy Hydro 2.0 is a major infrastructure project that aims to expand the existing Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme. This project involves the construction of a large-scale pumped hydro energy storage facility to increase the renewable energy generation capacity, enhance grid stability, and support Australia’s transition to a more sustainable, low-emission energy future.

Project Scope

Snowy Hydro 2.0 is a major infrastructure project that aims to expand the existing Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme. This project involves the construction of a large-scale pumped hydro energy storage facility to increase the renewable energy generation capacity, enhance grid stability, and support Australia’s transition to a more sustainable, low-emission energy future.

Rocktown was also engaged in the production of tunnel segments at their precast facility in Cooma, NSW. The project necessitates a total of 130,000 tunnel segments for the construction of approximately 38 kilometres of tunnels. In addition to producing the tunnel segments, Rocktown continues to perform Form, Reo, Pour (FRP) works throughout the project, focusing on key locations such as Marica, Tantangara, and Lobs Hole.
